To address increasing threats to water security due to climate change, urbanization, and pollution in Haiti, USAID awarded its five-year, $33 million USAID Eau: Water Security and Systems Strengthening activity as part of the U.S.-Caribbean Partnership to Address the Climate Crisis (PACC 2030). PACC 2030 is the U.S. government’s flagship partnership with the Caribbean to advance climate adaptation, resilience, and clean energy cooperation as we work to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Haiti also continues to struggle with gang violence and political instability, making access to water for the Haitian people a top concern. As Eau engages with Partners and communities, it will adapt its approaches to the immediate needs of water users and providers.
